PokerStars to work with Jumio

This week PokerStars announced it has signed a deal with Jumio, a real-time customer identification company that will assist PokerStars in player verification checks.

With the help of Jumio, players at PokerStars will now be able to verify their identity in a matter of minutes, with options ranging from scanning and uploading the documents to simply showing them through their webcam.

"Jumio offers a new and unique approach in the identity verification market… PokerStars' commitment to safety and security is second to none. This innovative new feature will allow us to provide better and faster service to our customers, while maintaining very high security standards," said Richard Bregazzi, Senior Verifications Manager at PokerStars.

"… Our ID credentials validation service not only provides a great customer experience and helps identify underage players and cybercriminals, but it also helps PokerStars manage the cost and the logistics required to manually verify customer identity documents," said Bjorn Evers, Director at Jumio.

Full Tilt Remission process is now over

The Garden City Group (GCG) has announced the end of the Full Tilt poker remission filing period for US players. In addition to ending the filing period the GCG also made the following announcements on their official Full Tilt Poker Claims website:

* Affiliates and “Pros” will receive an extension to file their remission claims.
* Players who have already filed a claim and are approved by the GCG will receive their refund no later than March 31, 2014.

By the time it is all said and done, US players will have waited nearly three years to receive their FTP funds, but the announcement of a precise date will likely come as a great relief, especially to players waiting to reclaim their large FTP account balances.
