Most Notable Hand From Episode 2

High Stakes Poker Season 7 features a lot of insane pots. But Episode 2 has one that nudges its way past the $500,000 mark. Esfandiari opened under the gun to $2,500 with the 87 of heart, gaining four callers; Ruffin with K2 of spades, Viffer with 76 offsuit, Selbst with KJ offsuit in the small blind and Greenstein with a pair of fours in the big blind.

The flop was a monster for two players; 10/6/4, two hearts, giving Esfandiari a monster draw and Greenstein bottom set. Action was checked to Esfandiari, who fired $6,200 into the $13,300 pot. Viffer elected to call with second pair, prompting Greenstein to try and take the pot down now with a raise to $30,000. Undeterred, Esfandiari chose the three bet to $106,000 as his play, gaining a swift fold from Viffer.

After a short tank, Greenstein four bet all in for a total of $287,200, which was snap called by Esfandiari when he put a brick of money in the pot and asked, "Once or twice?" Greenstein always runs it once, and was a 59% favorite when the money went in, but this time, it didn't pay off, as the queen of hearts peeled off the deck, giving Esfandiari the flush, and when the eight of clubs completed the board, a $593,900 pot was pushed Esfandiari's way.
