We’ll detail all the different ways you can earn yourself a £1,000 seat at the main event, together with a £500 contribution towards your travel and accommodation costs.

But first up, Batman-to-be Ben Affleck is one of Hollywood’s most famous actors and casino lovers, but he found himself in a little hot water on a recent trip to Las Vegas with wife Jennifer Garner, ahead of the start of filming for the new Man of Steel movie...

Ben Affleck asked to leave blackjack tables due to Suspected card counting

Oscar winner Ben Affleck hit the headlines last week when he was asked to leave the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas by security staff after the famous actor was suspected of card counting at the blackjack tables.

Affleck is reported to have won $800,000 playing blackjack at the Hard Rock Casino back in 2001 and it is also known that Affleck is a very keen and talented poker player.

However, casino experts revealed that Affleck had been “suspected of moving his wagers to the count” and that the actor had been “informed that he was being too obvious moving his money with the count."

It is thought Affleck had racked up a decent profit on his game at the Hard Rock before casino officials, who were tipped off to the actor by security experts, moved to intervene and ask him to leave the tables.

Security are said to have ordered a cab for Affleck and his wife to take them back to their hotel.

While card counting is not strictly illegal, it is frowned upon in casinos as when used correctly, it can give the player a slight edge over the casino when playing blackjack.

Affleck was thought to be using a card counting method called “perfect basic."

However, Affleck was not banned from the casino, as suggested in early reports, with owners of the Hard Rock stating that “Mr Affleck, a valued guest of Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, is not banned from our property and is welcome back any time.”
