Learn More About Sky Poker's No Deposit Bonus

With the backing of a huge multinational broadcaster and Newsmedia’s billions, Sky Poker has established itself as a foremost poker platform in the UK and across Europe. With a tie-in television channel and exposure across other Sky Sports channels on a weekly basis, it is easy to see why the site has become one of the biggest and most popular online poker sites.

Yet, as with every poker site, there are ways in which Sky Poker can improve, and below we examine what we think are the best three aspects of the site, and which are the three worst aspects which we would like the Sky Poker site owners to address.

The Three Best Things about Sky Poker

  1. VIP Program – With a generous rewards program, Sky Poker gives you an additional chance to build a bankroll without ever making a deposit. You earn points while playing cash games and tournaments at Sky Poker, and then you redeem those points for bonuses and other items. The more points you earn, the higher your place in the program and the greater the rewards. All players are eligible for the Sky Poker VIP program, no deposit required .
  2. The number of special and weekly freeroll events offered – One of the biggest positive aspects of Sky Poker is the sheer number of promotional and weekly freeroll events that the site offers. Since they are closely linked to Sky Sports, the site often runs promotions for major sporting events (such as a week of freeroll events tied into the recent Cheltenham Festival) as well as regular freerolls held on a daily or weekly basis.
  3. Intuitive design of the site – Finding your way easily around a poker site and clearly understanding the subtle nuances of each game you play is vital for a poker player and the Sky Poker site is beautifully designed. Information about each game is clearly presented and organised efficiently and effectively. In terms of site design promoting a positive user experience, Sky Poker scores top marks here.

The Three Worst Things about Sky Poker

  1. Only limited variations of games available – If you are a seasoned poker player who has broader interests beyond the more popular games of Texas Hold’em and Omaha, then you may not find Sky Poker the most rewarding site in these terms. The site does tend to focus mainly on these games (with Hold’em considerably the most popular) so if you are a fan of other variations of the game, then Sky Poker does fall a little short here.
  2. Unable to hide your identity in Cash Games – One of the biggest problem online poker sites have had in recent years are poker sharks who will play tables incessantly to target weaker players and then try to play them as often as possible to take their cash. A simple way to stop this is for users to be able to protect their identity by hiding it when at a table, so players are simply named “player one’ or similar, rather than their username. On Sky Poker, this option is not available which we think is something of an oversight.
  3. Technical Issues with Chrome & Window Resizing – Another small issue with the site is that we have experience technical issues with the site, especially when using it with Google Chrome. When this happens, we have found that when you enter a tournament and the room automatically loads up onto your screen, using Chrome somehow stops this from occurring and we have had to hurriedly switch to Firefox or IE7 to get the tournament screen up. In addition, when the screen is loaded up, you cannot change the size of the screen other than between medium and small and it would be beneficial to be able to drag the screen to the users preferred size.
